Is it better to use an electric shaver or a manual shaver?

Are you one of those stylish young urban bearded men for whom shaving is not just a pleasure, but a cult that requires special care? Or are you one of those who consider this act a tedious chore? Either way, it’s up to you to choose the method that’s right for you: manual or electric razor.

There are techniques for using a razor properly, but first you need to choose the one that’s right for you. Your beard has to behave!

Why choose a manual shaver?

Do you like to have everything you need at your fingertips? Then you’ll love the manual shaver. It’s convenient and small enough to fit in your kit. You don’t need a charger. You can opt for the disposable razor. However, you may have to replace it after 5 to 10 shaves maximum. But you can replace it as soon as the blade is dull. Alternatively, do you go for the refillable and reusable version? This version comes with detachable blade cartridges. Simply replace the blade when it becomes dull. Remember, a manual shaver is used on wet skin. It removes hair easily in a few strokes. The shave is close to the skin’s surface.

Have you heard of the cabbage cutter? Another manual shaving option that is becoming more and more popular. You’ll need all the accessories that go with it: a good shaving soap and a shaving brush. Take your time to avoid injury. Moisten your skin with warm water, apply the soap to your face and lather with the shaving brush. Shave in the direction of the hair, apply a second layer of soap and shave again in the opposite direction of the hair. Rinse with cold water. Dry and apply a moisturizing balm. That’s it!

Each type of manual shaver requires the same steps. When you’re done shaving, you’ll be fresh and clean-shaven, and your skin will feel so soft!

What about the electric razor?

Would you rather not do this ritual? Time is of the essence for you. And you don’t want to run the risk of cuts or nicks. Then electric shaving, which is done on dry skin, is ideal. You don’t need any accessories. There is no risk of cutting thanks to two components: a perforated grid to protect the skin and a set of small blades. Your hair is cut between two blades, just like a pair of scissors. The blades are less exposed than those of a manual shaver. The two electric shaving systems determine the direction in which the lower blade moves. Also, the first system is rotary with circular movements under the foil. The second system is linear with side-to-side movements.

Always in a hurry, you appreciate the speed and mobility of the electric shaver. That’s right! You can even use it by plugging it into your car’s cigarette lighter. Even if it is more expensive to buy, this symbol of the modern man allows you to save money in the long run.

Shaving is an age-old practice that has evolved through the ages. A must for both hygiene and aesthetics, the gesture is synonymous with safety, comfort and look. A difficult choice has to be made: manual or electric razor? It is difficult to decide. It’s all a question of personal preference, skin type and… shaving habits!
